This is the worst place I have ever seen they ignore patients they leave them in filth they leave them alone and screaming while workers hardly doing anything they are rude to paients you complain and noone listens.
The care our mom received by the staff was so loving, caring and gentle. Eva, Maria, Ashley and Smita and the stafff were so very kind! Highly recommend the facility.
My husband was at Richland Post Acute for over 2 weeks. All of the staff that cared for him were wonderful! He had easy communication with all. If someone couldn’t answer his needs, they found someone who could. As he got stronger he was able to work with the PT staff and we both saw his progression! We thank everyone for all of their knowledge and kindness. Paula T 🫶
Well organized & staffed for the needs of my parent. Basic accommodation provided with flexibility to bring in your own furniture supplies. The TV was the size of a desktop monitor with no speaker by the patient’s head.
Good experience and good care Kimawesome doctors great lupy recommend. When needed great help
My FIL has been here for over 2 weeks. The facility is super clean. The staff is so attentive and nice. Stephanie The physical therapist is amazing. Its been a great facility for him to rehab.
Terrible management. They are rude to guests and treat patients like they can’t wait for them to die. Someone I cared deeply about was there and when I visited, they had a care chart and according to that it had been over 24 hours since anyone was even in the room. He had made a bathroom mess and was all curled up weird. Total neglect. Then there’s this old lady that drives a white SUV that works there, she cusses out little kids for walking through the field. All she had to do was ask them and explain the situation but instead she’s yelling and cussing at kids that can’t be older than 7 or 8. I witnessed the entire thing two separate times while visiting a patient. She drives up aggressively and one time she yelled from the widow, the other time she got out, and to me it looked like she was going to hit one of them but thankfully she didn’t. But there’s no need to scare little kids like that. I can’t believe they employ someone like that. Needless to say, nobody in our family will ever go there again, for any reason. I’ll pay out of pocket before I let insurance send anyone there. But even insurance will cover much better places, even close by, and they’re probably not as expensive. My advice to you is to find another place no matter what the cost. It’s not worth the anguish.
My dad has dementia and lives in a memory care facility. A few weeks ago he fell and broke his hip. After surgery they brought him here for rehab. All of the crew we’ve met are excellent. Everyone knows him by name, the shave him daily and make sure he’s eating and cared for. We feel lucky that he’s here and improving.
Take your loved ones out of there ASAP!
My dad was here for awhile and the staff were so nice and friendly to him. They were so friendly to my mom and I too. I wouldn’t mind volunteering there someday, if you guys take volunteers. Thanks for all your help.
Compassionate, knowledgeable staff. Provided exceptional care to my father, highly recommend!!
SO HORRIBLE! I’m currently stuck here. I don’t get any information from the staff about cost of my stay here, , about timelines, and the nutrition is atrocious! I’m vegetarian, and being starved to death here. I get a plate of iceberg lettuce for most meals, or I’m offered grilled cheese as an alternative. A person can’t eat grilled cheese for every single meal…I’m not getting any protein, and no iron or nutrients either.see my pictures. There are not meals! I wish I could rate the physical and occupational therapy staff separately, because they (and several of the nursing staff) are absolutely fantastic! The PT staff focuses on what needs to be strengthened, and focuses on improving those weaknesses. The nurses are way understaffed, and I feel sorry about all the extra effort they have to do because of that. Altogether a train wreck of a place that I can’t wait to get away from!
I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident My father was in the rehab section of Richland Post Acute. It was very nice. They’re very busy, so they took a little bit longer to answer, which is fine. I loved all of the therapists that he worked with. They were all very helpful and took the time to talk to me when I had questions. When they would come in, they were very attentive to his needs. In rehab, he was having to learn to stand up and move again, so they always made sure that he was very safe when they’d transfer him from his wheelchair to his bed. They saw to it that he was ready for his bed at night because he was pretty helpless when he was in there. The place was clean. They would come in every day to change his bed. The dining area was very nice, too. They all got their dinner with their names on it because some of the residents had dietary restrictions. Everybody had a choice of what they got for lunch and dinner. The staff would come in about an hour before meals and ask each resident what they wanted for the meal. If the resident couldn’t get out of bed or just didn’t feel like going to the dining room, they would bring their meal to them in their rooms. For activities, I saw simple things like they would engage the patients in some painting activities if they could do it, or a 15-minute exercise in the dining room, or something. Other than that, I wasn’t there enough to know what other activities they did.
My mother was here. This place is horrible. The day nurse would leave her in wet diapers all day. They wouldn’t take her to the dining room to eat, the social services office said she didn’t wanted to get up. But she calls me crying because she’s stuck in a bed all day. She received very little physical therapy. Very little wound therapy. Half the time no bath. How does being dirty help with an incision healing? We asked for her admissions paperwork for over a week because they never gave her a copy of anything. She had to sign papers to get a copy of her own paperwork…they also loose your clothes & when asked they just bring you someone else’s stuff. When you call them they rarely call back. The administration staff are very rude when you ask them anything. It’s like they are trying to keep you down so they can get that lil government check. Sadly this place is supposed to be one of the better ones in tri cities. This place is a joke. Claiming they are doing stuff when they are not. The day nurse ( Valerie?) also tells lies on other staff & patients. DON’T CHOOSE THIS PLACE FOR YOUR LOVED ONES!!
I was released yesterday (Dec 19) after having been admitted 3 months ago (Sept 20) after a right shoulder replacement (from crutching for over 40 yrs after a motorcycle crash in 1984) at Lourdes 2 weeks earlier. I have nothing but respect for the working staff (PT, nurses, aides) attending to the patients daily but they are overworked so you can’t expect to receive immediate attention (w/in 5 min) as you would generally receive in a hospital. Most of the patients are elderly (octogenarians and beyond) with two patients per room. Many are hard of hearing so blaring TVs are the norm. My last roommate was a nightmare. He was diabetic, had Crohn’s disease, COPD, and hard of hearing. He exercised a continual loud projected cough except when he slept (which was only a couple hrs during the day) and made frequent trips to the bathroom which were always “announced” throughout the night as he carried on a loud colloquial conversation with an aide while the bathroom door was closed. He also turned on a loud room (compressed air?) generator (for breathing?) which would be left on from 20 min to 1.5 hr at any time of day or night. I was lucky to sleep 2 hrs a night and “remain Pollyanna pleasant” afterwards. Several patients had dementia and screamed for help at all hrs. During my second month a visitor brought in Covid which quickly spread throughout the facility. I was infected then moved into a room with another infected patient who died two weeks later but not from Covid. Administration has a process for patient treatment which is often explained but seldom exercised due to lack of staff. I am speculating of course but I believe the bottom line it is a business and optimized for profit – not so much for patient care. I only saw a doctor twice during my 3 months. The short-handed staff are required to make up the difference and they do a remarkable job for what tools they are provided (Katrina, Anna, Rubin were my favorites – and Jill the nurse – altho I liked many others). This is the only rehab/nursing care facility I have experienced so I can only compare it to a long-term hospital stay. Sometimes you will wait 1-2 hr or more for a pain pill – for intense pain patients this can be a nightmare. My suggestion is bring your own pain meds for emergencies ( nod nod wink wink say no more say no more). I am still decompressing from my 3 months stay but it was still much better than if I were caring for myself at home – unless, of course, I hired private help which is expensive. I am fully covered with Medicare and supplemental insurance so getting released was difficult (until the cow was dry) – but that is another review. The food is typical hospital food but there is plenty and you are served in bed … also you are lucky to receive what you ordered but it is not a hotel. To sum it all up, my experience was between One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest and Catch-22 with plenty of pain pills. Again, many thanks to all the nurses and aides who drew the short straw and had to put up with me but it could be your Karma catching up to your past …. 🙂
The staff especially those I’m working with daily, CNAs, nurses , OT/PT, custodial and administrative have been so supportive as I’m recovering from a femur fracture. The CNAs I interface with lots. They tackle many challenging tasks, not the least of which is holding up my left side, with encouragement, patience, and a demeanor to help me get the most from each day. A big THANK YOU!!!
Extremely disappointed of the care that my relative received. It is an awful place to come after an injury o a severe illness. There is very little empathy for the patients and the lack of communication was incredible. In the almost full month of his stay not once we saw a doctor come and visit him or talk with us about his plan of treatment. The meals were horrific. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. The workers were kind and did their jobs, it is the administrative staff that is messed up.
This facility is extremely poorly managed. Expect the least amount of therapy while a string along for a full medicare billing cycle. We requested a UTI test at admitting and TEN days later received one along with medications. However this set back rehabilitation by 2 weeks at least. Not to mention delays in scheduled Dr. Visits to progress therapy…3 more weeks lost. The aids working there do their best and we have no complaints with everyday staff. However getting anywhere with administrators was a total joke. Do not go here unless it is a last resort!
My dad was referred to richland rehab from kadlec hospital. I was told he could keep receiving his IV antibiotic three times per day and also get physical therapy. I thought it sounded like a good plan but it was not good!! . First, he was placed in a room with another person and there was barely enough room to walk or sit. They were suppose to do physical therapy everyday. After 3 days being there I asked about PT and they wheeled dad in wheelchair to the exercise room where they had him ride the bike. When asked if they could do more than just riding the bike like walking with a walker they told me they couldn’t because he had blood in his mouth. I told them it’s not blood it’s shedding from radiation. They also didn’t know how to use the feeding tube and damaged it so dad had to be taken back to hospital to interventional radiologist to take care of it. The communication was terrible. After 10 days and finishing antibiotic I had dad released back to his apartment at Bona venture. I would never recommend this facility.
The care given here is above what I expected. They supportive and caring and professional. You have Zach, Holly, Andi, Katrina and Anna who take care to the next level. They also make family members feel welcome. They never make you feel in the way. I recommend Richland Rehab highly.
